OVER 10 PLACES Places
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM

The funniest part is that for the longest time, I pronounced “Greenwich” as “Gryn-vič,” just like many others :) Turns out, the correct pronunciation is actually “GREN-itch.” The name comes from Old English, where green means “green” and wic means “village.” Over time, the w became silent, and now we say “Grenitch.” This area is full of greenery, a peaceful vibe, a bustling market, vintage shops, and cozy little cafes – much calmer than the other side of the Thames :) By the way, for some reason, this neighborhood always reminds me of the Lithuanian Actor Trio’s song “Žalia žalia” (you know, “per visą dangų…”).
